April 2026 Update: Multi-Clip Extraction and Smarter Analyses

This month's release is built around two things coaches kept asking for: pulling several clips out of a single long video without re-importing it five times, and an Analyses tab that actually remembers what you were working on. Here's what changed.

Extract multiple clips from one video

You can now scrub through a long recording and carve out as many clips as you want in a single pass. Each clip gets its own range, and they live as virtual clips on top of the same source file — no duplicate copies in your Photos library, no waiting for re-encodes.

The new extractor screen has a dark theme and a custom range slider so the start and end handles stay readable even on hardware where you can barely see the timeline. Trimmed boundaries are enforced during playback, so when you tap a clip you only ever see the part you marked — the rest of the source video stays out of the way.

Send a video straight to WithCoach from anywhere

The multi-clip extractor is wired into the iOS Share Extension. Open a video in Photos, Files, Messages, or any app that supports sharing, tap the share button, and pick WithCoach. The extractor opens inside the share sheet, you mark your clips, and they land in your library when you're done — without ever leaving the app you started in.

This is especially useful for coaches who get clips sent over by athletes via iMessage or AirDrop and previously had to save them to Photos first.

A smarter Analyses history

The Analyses tab now sorts by the last time you actually opened a comparison, not just by when it was created. Reopen an old comparison and it jumps to the top of the list, so the work you're returning to is always one tap away.

Each row also reads more naturally now: instead of a redundant date pill plus a truncated timestamp, you'll see something like "Last opened today at 1:46 PM" or "Last opened yesterday at 11:32 PM." The sort order is obvious because the timestamps are visible.

Each comparison remembers its own state

Before this update, if you used the same video in two different comparisons, the playback position, zoom, pan, and sync points would bleed between them. Now every comparison stores its own configured state — open one to where you left off, switch to another, and come back to find the first one exactly the way you set it.

This matters most for coaches who reuse a reference clip across many athletes. The reference video stays the same, but the alignment with each athlete's attempt is preserved separately.

Reliability fixes

Quieter than the headline features but worth flagging: we fixed a class of regressions in the compare flow and cloud media pipeline, virtual clip imports, and the upload queue's playback handoff. If you noticed a comparison briefly going black mid-playback or an imported clip refusing to load, those paths are now solid.
